Software Engineer

Engineering / Full Time

We are a well-funded, fast growing, Australian tech business operating on the global stage with offices in Sydney and London. 

Big Picture is connecting the healthcare ecosystem. Our platform is the underlying infrastructure that enables new models of collaborative, distributed and intelligent healthcare to be delivered, optimising patient outcomes and making smarter use of healthcare resources. 

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer who will work closely with our clinical, design and development teams to build and deliver cutting edge applications to completely change the delivery of healthcare globally. This is an incredibly exciting time to join the business and get involved with advanced and innovative product builds.

The role will be based in London. Hybrid/remote work possible based in the UK. 

The Role. 

The platform requires a resilient, manageable and scalable cloud computing layer that brings the benefits of cloud-native principles to the medical sector. Responsibilities will include:

  • Drive the immediate future of our infrastructure on AWS; making key technology decisions on new services and improving the quality of existing systems

  • Manage, scale and automate our AWS environments

  • Refine our CI/CD processes

  • Document and communicate infrastructure changes 

  • Progress our platform to a single SaaS environment

  • Collaborate with our development teams to research technology solutions for our unique challenges

  • Work closely with our newly formed integrations team

  • Manage our security controls and compliance validation for our infrastructure

  • Manage and implement monitoring of metrics and logging

  • Share our inclusive values for diversity in culture, experience and expertise

About You.

  • You have experience in the Medical Product space (nice to have)

  • You have experience with SaaS companies (nice to have)

  • You have experience in start-up companies (nice to have)

  • You have had some exposure to (Hl7, FIHR, DICOM) (nice to have) 

The right person will have

  • 4+ years of industry experience in cloud and infrastructure projects

  • Experience in enterprise management

  • Experience with AWS technologies & products, including ECS, RDS, Lambda, Elasticache, S3, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation

  • Experience with AWS networking, including VPC, Peering Links, Load Balancers

Bonus Points.

  • AWS Certification in relevant areas

  • Familiarity with Scripting languages such as Shell

  • Ability to map business objectives to infrastructure architecture requirements
